We’re pleased to announce the donation of hundreds of photographs by the California-based photographer Lorenzo DeStefano, documenting his travels to Cuba between 1993 and 1998.
The series, titled “Cubanos – Island Portraits,” includes black and white and color portraits and views of daily life on the island during Cuba’s Special Period. DeStefano is currently producing a book based on this work, “La hora mágica/The Magic Hour: A Photographer’s Journeys through Cuba.”
His Cuba work has been shown extensively through traveling exhibitions in Cuba and across the United States. DeStefano is also the director of the documentary “Los Zafiros – Music from the Edge of Time.”
