This illustrated envelope by visual artist Miguel Cubiles was used to mail his application to the Cintas Foundation for a fellowship in the Visual Arts category. Cubiles is an artist who left Cuba in 1961, studied at then-Miami Dade Community College (MDCC), and in 1980 settled permanently in Mexico. He is known for sending correspondence to friends and colleagues with humorous illustrations that include collage, evidenced in the way he addressed Dr. Eduardo PadrΓ³n, then President of MDCC.
